Those with Android devices can now enjoy the splendors offered by Twitter’s 6-second video app Vine.

The app debuted on iOS in January and has since gained 13 million users.

Vine allows users to create 6-second video clips made up of as many shots as they choose. In a way, it is a video version of popular social networking services Twitter and Instagram.

Over the past six months Vine has quickly gained popularity in the social media sphere.

Vine themselves released their own 6-second video to announce the app’s availability on Android:

Android users can download Vine now for free using the Google Play store. Early reviews for Vine for Android version 1.0.0 indicate that there is no ability to search for friends using Facebook, and settings do not save.

“Over the coming weeks, you’ll see frequent updates with new features –– including front-facing camera, search, mentions and hashtags, and the ability to share to Facebook –– as well as bug fixes and performance improvements,” said Vine in a statement. “Of course, this is only the beginning –– we have exciting plans for features that could exist only on Android.”

One feature unique to Android’s Vine is the ability to zoom in on videos (on devices that support it).
