Vincent D’Onofrio wrapped filming his scenes as Kingpin on Daredevil season 3, and celebrated the occasion by teasing the upcoming third outing.

D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who played a significant and central role in Dardevil’s first season, had some minor appearances in season 2, as the focus shifted onto Frank Castle, Elektra Natchios, and The Hand. It would appear, however, that Kingpin will be making a resurgence in season 3.

“What we have coming for you is really something,” D’Onofrio tweeted, accompanied with a red-tinted image of Kingpin’s fist. That imagery could signify a Kingpin ready to take on a more active, physically violent role when Daredevil returns to Netflix.

At the close of the second season, and following a confrontation between Fisk and Matt Murdock, Fisk vowed to ruin both Murdock and Foggy Nelson. Since then, Matt Murdock is considered dead, following The Defenders — though he has been taken in by a convent and potentially without his memories — and Foggy Nelson has moved on to work with Jeri Hogarth. So it will remain to be seen how Fisk’s vendetta alters when season 3 premieres.

Speaking to Collider, D’Onofrio said, “I’ve shot some pretty cool scenes, so far. It’s different, but it’s very Fisk. It’s still very emotional. The character is evolving. His whole deal is based on emotion, so we’re taking him down that role further.”

“There are new focuses and new goals,” he added. “That’s all I can say. If it was up to me, I would go on and on and on about it because it’s so interesting, but it’s so important to them, for us to keep our mouths shut.”

In the interview, D’Onofrio reiterated that Daredevil was going to blow fans away. “I can only say that we’re doing things that are just going to blow the fans away. We’ve already shot some things that are just going to be neat for the fans. There’s some awesome things that are very much in the history of Fisk and Daredevil, that people have been waiting for. We’ve already put some of that stuff in the can, and there’s a lot more to do. I think they’re gonna be very happy.”

Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for Daredevil season 3. Luke Cage season 2 is up next, and drops on Netflix on June 22, 2018.
