Photos taken yesterday at Universal Studios Florida indicate that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley expansion has now begun vertical (upward) construction.

A crane begin placing frames near the waterfront with the top portion (a possible side of a roof?) angling at roughly 100 degrees.

Universal has still not formally announced the project that’s taken over the former Jaws area. Our guess is that they’re keeping it quiet for as long as possible in order to prevent potential visitors from waiting until the new park opens to make their visit.

Rumors state that Diagon Alley will feature a Gringotts thrill ride, The Leaky Cauldron restaurant, and shops like Dervish and Banges.
