Before today most of the Veronica Mars movie buzz has been surrounding the notorious Logan-Veronica-Piz love triangle, but now we finally get a peak into the lives of some of our other favorite Neptune High alum.

Last June, TVLine had the chance to visit the Veronica Mars movie set and was able to squeeze spoilers out of creator Rob Thomas and some cast members.

When talking about Veronica’s return to sleuthing, Rob Thomas said we can expect her to be a little “rusty” in the P.I. field. She’s taken a 10-year break because “it destroyed friendships and ended relationships,” clarified Thomas.

As for Veronica’s BFF’s, Wallace and Mac? It seems like the pair have set up nice lives for themselves. “[Wallace is] a single basketball coach and a teacher now,” explained actor Percy Daggs III.

Tina Majorino was also able to reveal that “[Mac] ended up in a spot that she didn’t originally see for herself.” The actress also added that Mac “makes good money” and that she is still single.

Is it just us or is anyone else kind of shipping Wallace and Mac right now?

While these fates may not come as a surprise, the resident gang leader, Weevil, seems to have made the most life changes. When the first trailer hit last July, fans were given a nice surprise to find out that Weevil was currently married!

Now Francis Capra has dropped another bombshell on us, “He’s gotten to a place where he can love again, and he’s gotten the greatest blessing, which is a child, so he’s doing good. I’m proud of him.”

Of course, you can’t expect everyone to have grown and matured, but you can always count on Dick Casablancas to stay the same. “[He’s] just partying and living off of his dad’s money,” Ryan Hansen divulged. Oh Dick, how we love you. Never change.

‘Veronica Mars’ hitting theaters and internet same day

In related news, the Wall Street Journal reports today that the film will be released in theaters and online on the same day. The publication notes that this is the first time a movie has ever been released in theaters and via digital download services simultaneously by “Hollywood’s six major studios.”

UPDATE: Rob Thomas confirmed in a Kickstarter update tonight that Veronica Mars will be made available worldwide on March 14.

If you were a Kickstarter backer and your rewards included a digital copy of the movie, you will receive it on March 14th. However, if your rewards didn’t include a digital copy or if you didn’t even back the film, Veronica Mars will be available both to rent and purchase from digital retailers (such as iTunes and Amazon) as well as on-demand through participating CABLE and SATELLITE providers, worldwide.

According to Rob Thomas, finding theaters to show the film has been a difficult process because of the Kickstarter’s promise that backers at $35 and up would receive digital copies of the movie within a few days of the film’s release. But, even though it’s been a difficult process, the fans have been Rob Thomas’ #1 priority.

While Rob Thomas hasn’t said anything about possible consequences for releasing the film through these digital platforms, he seems confident that it’s the best decision for all fans of Veronica Mars.

This is great news for those who can’t make it to one of the theaters playing Veronica Mars on release day. Will you see the film in theaters or at home first?

Hopefully, these little tidbits will tide all you Marshmallows over while you wait so patiently for March 14 to get here.
