Welcome home Marshmallows! The Veronica Mars Movie will officially be released nationwide March 14, 2014.

Are you excited about the release date? A new clip can be seen on EW to celebrate today’s announcement.

The film was previously scheduled to only appear in a limited number of theaters, so Rob Thomas’ announcement today that it will be “nationwide” is reassuring for fans who want to see it on the big screen.

Veronica Mars was a hit series on UPN and the CW from 2004 to 2007 and launched the career of star Kristen Bell. Bell played Veronica Mars, a spunky and sassy teenage student with a boatload of tragedies and a quest for justice. The series also starred Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars, Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls, Teddy Dunn as Duncan Kane, Percy Daggs III as Wallace Fennel, Francis Capra as Eli Navarro, Ryan Hansen as Dick, Tina Majorino as Mac, and Chris Lowell as Piz. The series was critically acclaimed however and was cancelled after three seasons. All of the stars have gone on to be successful in their acting and other ventures, however the fans clamored for a movie to be made.

Series executive producer Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell launched a Kickstarter to raise funds for the Warner Bros. movie on March 13 with the goal of raising $2 million. The over 91,000 fans raised more than $5.7 million to fund the movie. The cast and crew filmed this summer and have showed a couple of teaser trailers to fans at Comic-Con 2013 and at the Austin Film Festival. Here’s the initial Kickstarter video and teasers to remind you.
