America’s Got Talent was back last night with day two of Vegas week. Tonight the judges decided which of the judges’ favorites group will be headed on to the live shows and who will be headed home.

Day two means the continuation of the judges’ favorites in all different categories from Monday.

Up first was the magic category. Eric Dittelman, the mind reader, started off the group. He asked Sharon to think of the name of her first crush on a slip of paper then fold it up into fourths. He took it from her to show to Howie to verify that he couldn’t see through it. He then told her that there was a ‘B’ and an ‘N’ and after she was frightened by that, wrote down the name. He had her say it and it was ‘Robin’ which is exactly the name he had down. She said she just made the name up, so there’s no way he could have known previously. How did he do it? Taylor Reed was up next and made a helicopter appear on stage. Justin Rivera did the old split-yourself-in-half trick this time using cardboard boxes. Unfortunately for him he let his foot slip out the side which completely blows the act. Spencer Horsman submerged himself completely in a tank of water while blindfolded and locked at five different spots. He got through all five locks. While he did drop the key, that only added to the suspense as it kept him under longer, and he used his belt to get out of the last lock. He had to hold his breath for a minute and thirty seconds while doing this. Incredible.

Next was the musical groups category. First up was Eric and Olivia, and Howard is still trying to get them together romantically, which only adds to their long-term success. Many of the female vocalists choked yesterday, but Olivia sang “What a Wonderful World” beautifully. It still seems that Eric doesn’t really add anything. Next up is the father/daughter combo of Maurice and Shanice Hayes. Maurice definitely slipped up and his vocals were weak at times. The father/daughter aspect is very touching, but it definitely won’t work unless Shanice is the lead. Another father/daughter combo followed them, this time it was Jorge and Alexa Narvaez. Alexa definitely looked a lot older than in their audition. She didn’t sound older, though. While her dad’s voice is absolutely incredible, hers is not that great because she is so young. Howard said it felt like he was teaching her the song as they were singing it, and they all agreed it was adorable.

The musical groups were followed by the comedians with Jacob Williams leading the way. His act seemed a little less funny than his audition, but it still was very enjoyable. Sammy Obeid was next and they only showed one joke of his, and it was pretty good. Dave Burleigh followed with some good impressions. Kellen Erskine had a decent joke of his shown. Tom Cotter delivered another very strong string of jokes. He’s obviously the comedian to beat. Frank Roche went with what Howard told him in his audition and decided not to stay in his comfort zone and do impressions. He started with a bad joke, asked to start over, and then did the same joke again before giving up. After a few questions from the judges, Frank left the stage. After a bit they called him back and sent him home immediately.

The kid category was next. Sebastien “El Charro de Oro” was up first and he gave a terrific performance that really showed how fantastic his voice is, especially for his age. Issac Brown was next, and while he was still as cute as a bug, his voice was really out of tune and it was much worse than last time. The Untouchables were next, and they delivered a fantastic dance as you would expect after seeing their audition. Amazing Elizabeth, the six-year-old aerial dancer, delivered another jaw-dropping performance. Edon, a singer we didn’t see much of during his audition, delivered an amazing version of David Guetta’s “Without You” that will make him an instant fan favorite. Sharon likened him to a young Billy Joel.

The male singers took the stage next. Ulysses, the guy who sang theme songs in his audition, was up first. The judges were split on him and his performance of the Johnny Rivers song, “Secret Agent Man.” It was noticeable that his voice seemed strained in the higher notes that he went for. Daniel Park seemed to do okay in the short clip shown of him singing “Free Fallin'” (Tom Petty). 15-year-old Jake Wesley Rogers had the judges split, though it would seem that he has one of the purest voices on the show. Tim Poe was next, the guy who lied about being a war hero, and he seemed to do pretty good, if not really good. The judges said that he didn’t hold up to the other singers, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if that was a comment about somebody else’s performance and they just stuck it there to give a reason for showing him the door. Tim Hockenberry and his gravelly, raspy voice delivered another powerful performance.

After a montage of the judges arguing with each other, it is announced that they have come to a decision and they bring the acts to the stage.

These acts are going home: Jorge and Alexa Narvaez, Sammy Obeid, Dave Burleigh, Kellen Erskine, Loyalty Dance Team, Isaac Brown, Amazing Elizabeth, Tim Poe, Daniel Park, Mary Joyner, Roxy Doll, Brianna Price, Cecilia Detwiler, Funk Beyond Control, Taylor Reed, New Guard America, Simply Sergio, Luis Meneghin, and Andrew De Leon.
