Van by Sawyer Bennett will make you fall in love with the Cold Fury Hockey series all over again!

About ‘Van’ (Cold Fury Hockey #9) by Sawyer Bennett:

As one of the league’s toughest enforcers, Van Turner is ruthless on the ice. He plays hard because it’s the only way to channel the rage boiling inside, and a reputation as an A-hole is better than everyone knowing the truth. Van has spent his entire life running from a secret that’s kept him from getting involved in relationships—or accepting lucrative deals with East Coast teams. Then the Carolina Cold Fury makes him an offer he can’t refuse . . . and Van meets a woman he can’t resist.

Simone Fournier is the stubborn one in her family—and that’s saying something, considering her brothers are two of the Cold Fury’s biggest stars. Simone gets what she wants, and what she wants is Van. Still, there’s a part of him Simone can’t reach, no matter how hard she tries. In private, he’s all fire and passion. In public, he freezes her out. Van may want to push her away, but Simone won’t let him go that easily. Because this time, she’s playing for keeps.

‘Van’ (Cold Fury Hockey #9) by Sawyer Bennett book reivew:

As with any long-running series, there are some great books and some not so great Cold Fury Hockey books. Sawyer Bennett is a supremely talented author, but there have been some books in this series that I just wasn’t crazy about. However, Van reminded me what makes these hockey romances by Sawyer Bennett so addicting.

There’s nothing I love more than a flawed hero. Guys with a chip on their shoulder make for great hockey romances, as seen in Van. Despite the fact that he’s a great athlete and nice guy when he wants to be, Van likes to keep everyone at arm’s length. That is, until he meets Simone, who gets past all of his carefully built barriers.

“Christ, I didn’t want her in my head, but she’s firmly planted there now. How could she not be when she’s always in my face, taunting me and then showing me her delectable body?”

Simone and Van have explosive chemistry because she’s not afraid to go after what she wants, even when Van won’t admit that he wants what she has to offer, too. One of my favorite things about Simone is how sex positive she is. Simone has zero care about what others have to think about her sexuality, including her overbearing brothers.

And yes, Simone has definitely made some mistakes, but she owns up to them and is trying to get her life back on track. She also doesn’t judge others for their pasts and has an open mind and heart. This makes her a perfect match for Van, who definitely has some dark demons in his closet that are starting to come out whether he wants them to or not.

“It pisses me off more, though, when she turns and wraps her arms around my neck, going up to her tiptoes to press her mouth against mine. My lips part in surprise and her tongue slips in. Fuck that feels so goddamn good.”

For those that love the super steamy scenes from Sawyer, Van definitely delivers. Though Van does try to resist Simone for a little while, they can’t seem to take their hands off one another once they do start their relationship. I’d say this is one of the sexiest books in the Cold Fury Hockey series.

Sawyer Bennett already has two more books planned for this series to come out in 2018, and I can’t wait to get my greedy little hands on them!
