Vampire Weekend has tweeted some much anticipated news today: their newest album will drop on May 7.

Currently, the band has yet to release the title to their third studio-length record but fans can rejoice that we will finally be receiving new music from the indie-pop rock band that won us over with their 2008 self-titled debut.

It’s been two years since the college-band-turned-indie-superstars released new material.

“There was a certain point where we kind of knew deep down that it didn’t quite feel right,” singer/guitarist Ezra Koenig told RollingStone in a recent interview. “We knew it could be better.”

And the extra time was exactly what the band needed.

Back in November,Vampire Weekend debuted their first single, “Unbelievers,” from their forthcoming album on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Although we still have several more months until their new album is out in stores, let’s revisit some of our favorite Vampire Weekend hits.

“Oxford Comma” was cleverly created out of the questioning of the use of a comma in a list of three items. An old gem that highlights Vampire Weekend’s catchy beats and lively lyrics.

And who could forget their first single, “A-Punk”? The introduction to the band in 2008 with their first single immediately garnered the quartet national recognition and helped bring the band from New York college students to top 20 album chart artists in both the United States and the U.K.
