E! Online has some new spoilers about The Vampire Diaries, including the names of some (surprising) returning characters and a Paul Wesley quote about Stefan!

Paul Wesley discusses whether Stefan is completely lost to the dark side:

The thing about Stefan is that the whole struggle the audience is going to watch, and that I hope to convey, is that there are little glimpses. When I say a little glimpse, I mean like a look, like maybe he is still there, but you have no idea. Even I don’t know if he’s really in there.

Furthermore, it looks like we’ll see the characters Pearl (Kelly Hu), Bonnie’s grandma (Jasmine Guy) and Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) all return in sometime around the seventh episode! All characters, incidentally, are dead – are the gates to the beyond wedged open, allowing all kinds of ghosts to slip back into the world of the living?!
