The Hollywood Reporter has released another Q&A in preparation for this weekend’s Comic Con, this time with Julie Plec of The Vampire Diaries!

Julie Plec reveals some of what we’ll see at the Vampire Diaries panel:

We start shooting a week before Comic-Con but we have a wish that there might be a frame or two of footage that we might be able to show off. But we also have no idea what we’re shooting before then; it could be a complete and utter disaster. We could show up with nothing. But our plan is better than that. We’ll definitely have a nice little reel.

When asked what she’d prefer fans not ask, Plec says that she advises fans to ask intelligent questions:

If I had the opportunity to get up in front of a couple thousand people in the audience and take the time to ask a question, I’d want to hit hard and try to get some story spoilers out of us because we crumble on that stage. Those lights are bright and we’re sweating a little and trying to keep all the secrets we’re supposed to keep. We crumble under pressure if we’re not careful.

That sounds like a challenge fans should accept!

Finally, she also reveals that we’ll learn more about the Originals next year:

We’re going to dig deep into the history of the original family and start to get a glimpse of the other members of the family that we’ve only just heard of. That’s a big part of, over the course of the season, understanding what makes Klaus tick, why he is the way he is and who’s responsible for making him that way. Our show is about family and all its dysfunctional glory, and Klaus is probably the most dysfunctional.
