Thanksgiving is a day where everyone gets thankful for what they have, but on The Vampire Diaries it looks like instead of bringing family together everyone is falling apart.

Last week on ‘The Vampire Diaries’

We found out that Julian really is a terrible person, and after a failed attempt to kill him Stefan and Damon now have yet another enemy to face. Enzo’s alliances have changed once again, this time leaning more towards Bonnie’s side than anyone else’s. Oh, and apparently Alaric’s kids are still alive but they’re inside of Caroline, so Caroline is now pregnant with twins.

This week, family drama comes out again

The synopsis for the episode reads, “In order to get through to Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) about Julian’s (guest star Todd Lasance) manipulating ways, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) confront their mother with painful memories from their childhood. However, when Lily reveals a dark secret she’s been harboring for over 160 years, Stefan and Damon are left questioning everything they’ve ever known about their family. Determined to prove himself to Lily, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) comes face-to-face with Julian and challenges him to a duel, but an unexpected twist threatens to complicate things. Elsewhere, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds himself in the middle of a deepening mystery involving the residents of Mystic Falls, and Caroline’s (Candice King) world is turned upside down when Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) reveals some life-changing news to her.”

So we know about what life changing news Valerie has, and we know that the unexpected twist that faces Enzo when he battles Julian is the spell the links them together, but what is the dark secret Lily has been harboring? It’s gotta be something good to make us gasp, because at this point she could say she’s an alien and we’d have no trouble believing it.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ returns tonight at 8:00 p.m. on the CW
