The indie-focused Steam Greenlight service that allows the community to decide which games make it the platform was lauched earlier today.

Users can now potentially vote games submitted by developers into Steam.

The project was initially announced in July.

Greenlight currently hosts over 30 titles including McPixel, Organ Trail, 8Bit MMO, Paper Monsters, Dream, DLC Quest, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, But to Paint a Universe and Evil Quest among other low- and high-profile indie titles.

“We’ve been working on this feature for the last few months with the input from a group of indie partners, and the response has been extremely positive,” Valve’s Anna Sweet says.

As with everything Valve does, Greenlight will continue to be tweaked over the coming months with community feedback.
