UnReal returns tonight with its second season. We can’t wait to see what Rachel and Quinn have in store as they produce the latest season of Everlasting.

Last year UnReal brought us a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make the fictitious dating show Everlasting. With characters you love to hate and hate to love, UnReal is a perfect summer show to watch.

We rejoin Quinn and Rachel, who have shifted positions since ousting the ever-chauvinistic Chet. Quinn is now the executive producer and Rachel is the showrunner, taking Quinn’s old position. The dynamic between the women is questionable given where last season’s finale left the ladies. Quinn essentially used Rachel to get what she needed, but in her own weird way she also thinks she helped Rachel.

Rachel, for her part, seems to understand that Quinn was trying to be helpful. In the final scene between the two ladies, it appears that they will manage to work things out even though Quinn destroyed Rachel’s chance at happiness with Adam — or did she?

Rachel and Quinn will have more to worry about than dealing with their new roles. Chet returns to claim his kingdom back and he isn’t giving up without a fight. Rachel, Quinn, and Chet all struggle to become the true showrunner. Then, of course, Rachel also has to deal with Jeremy, who is still the primary cameraman on the show. We all saw how that relationship imploded, primarily from Rachel’s own doing, but did Jeremy really need to go see Rachel’s mother, saying she was crazy again? I think someone was a little bitter.

This season of UnReal brings a new bachelor and new drama. B.J. Britt will be playing the first black suitor on Everlasting, which means the fake dating show has surpassed the “real” dating show on TV. The casting of a black suitor brings a whole different set of issues to Everlasting, from having to convince the studio that a black suitor will bring the ratings to dealing with racism from some of the contestants.

This season of UnReal is sure to be filled with crazy women fighting for one guy, a suitor who isn’t as perfect as he seems, and plenty of behind-the-scenes drama. What do you hope happens this season?

‘UnReal’ season 2 premieres on Lifetime tonight at 10 p.m. EST
