Universal Studios Japan is kicking off 2021 by unveiling its brand new Super Nintendo World — an immersive theme park land we’re sure video game fans will be itching to visit!

Get ready to book your flights to Osaka, Nintendo fans.

Universal Studios Japan kicked off the week by announcing that the theme park plans to open up its Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021.

In addition to revealing the official grand opening date for its immersive Super Nintendo World, the theme park also unveiled some brand new footage of what awaits fans who visit, and it’s safe to say you’ll definitely be itching to book a trip once you get a peek at what’s in store.

The highly themed and immersive land featuring nods to world, characters, and adventures promises guests the opportunity to play inside their favorite Nintendo games.

In addition to featuring Mario Kart and Yoshi themed rides and attractions as well as restaurants, shops, and other experiences, Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World has also gotten creative in an effort to make guests feel as though they’ve been plunged into some of their favorite video game worlds.

They’ll be doing this with the help of a Power-Up Band— an innovative technology that helps bring game play to life and allows guests to play throughout the park. With the purchase of a Power-Up Band, guests will be able to punch ‘?’ Blocks, collect virtual coins, and more as they work their way through games located throughout the area to collect three keys before squaring off against Bowswer Jr. The device also connects to your phone so you can keep track of your progress and compete against other Super Nintendo World guests.

Those not wishing to make an additional purchase once inside will still have plenty to sink their teeth into. Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World also boasts two new rides: Yoshi’s Adventure, where goers will climb aboard the character’s back and follow Captain toad on a treasure hunting adventure, and the world’s first Mario Kart theme park ride experience, in which riders will be able to throw shells, take out opponents, and save right alongside Mario and Princess Peach.
