Those of us who live in the Southern California area are finally learning how much it’ll cost to visit Wizarding World Hollywood on the reg when it opens early next year.

Universal Studios Hollywood announced their 2016 annual pass prices on November 16, and they’re surprisingly affordable for locals.

The cheapest pass option — exclusively for California residents — offers you 182 days of access to Universal Hollywood (if purchased this month) for $139. With Wizarding World Hollywood opening sometime in early 2016, that means you can get around 100 days of access to Hogwarts for the price of five Harry Potter Illustrated Editions. Not bad!

Other options: A $199 pass includes 244 days of access, and a $299 pass offers 312 days of access. There is no pass that offers no blackout dates, and all of the passes are blocking out most weekends in 2016.

Unfortunately no pass includes parking or free access to Butterbeer, so you’ll have to spend another $20-$25 per visit if you want to do Hogwarts right.

For those of us who live close to Universal Studios (I see Hogwarts from a distance daily and I’m still not over it), the lowest-priced pass is a great option.

Park enthusiasts were anxiously awaiting the pricing information, because everyone was expecting Universal to bump up the costs in light of the Wizarding World opening.
