Universal Orlando has introduced new, higher ticket prices just a few weeks prior to the opening of their Transformers: The Ride attraction and on the heels of their Wizarding World expansion annoucement.

A one-day, one-park ticket now starts at $92 (up from $89), while the one-day, two-park ticket now costs $128 (previously $123).

Universal and Disney tend to match each other’s ticket prices, so experts believe that the Walt Disney World Resort will soon raise their ticket prices too.

Universal has been steadily raising their park tickets over the past couple of years as they grow the number of offerings and experiences available to guests.

The price increases are particularly notable because Universal is considering requiring a two-park ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express when it opens in 2014. The real train will be connecting the existing Wizarding World at Islands of Adventure with the Diagon Alley land at Universal Orlando. Although an e-mail from Universal indicated that a two-park ticket would be required, last week the park sent out a survey asking potential park goers what kind of ticket they think should be required to get between the two lands.

With the Wizarding World Diagon Alley still over a year away from opening, we’re confident that Universal will raise prices another few dollars before we get to hop on the Hogwarts Express and ride whatever Gringotts attraction is in store for us.
