Hogwarts Castle at Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter will light up throughout 2018 with a new projection show.

The theme park has announced “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle,” which will launch on Wednesday, January 31. The show “will wrap Hogwarts castle in a dazzling display celebrating the four houses of Hogwarts – Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin,” according to a statement from Universal.

“Guests will watch in awe as the spirit and iconic elements of each house are brought to life on the majestic castle – all set to incredible music based on the original scores from the Harry Potter films.”

This show is expected to be very similar — if not exactly the same as — Universal Hollywood’s Wizarding World projection show that ran last summer. I saw this show in person at Wizarding World Hollywood’s Grand Opening and can attest to how amazing it is.

Those who are attending this months’ A Celebration of Harry Potter on January 27 – 28 will get to see the show early. From there, The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle will run January 31 – February 5, and February 7 – February 12. Universal says they’ll continue to announce dates on their website as the year progresses.

The news comes a couple weeks after Universal Orlando wrapped up Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The limited-time event featured a nightly projection show at Hogwarts that was themed to the Christmas holiday.
