The first trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars is here, and it’s as badass as you could imagine! See Kate Beckinsale as Selene, slaying like never before.

Underworld: Blood Wars brings back Beckinsale for what might be Selene’s last adventure — but it’s promising to be a good one.

This marks the directorial debut of Anna Foerster, who looks like she’ll do a great job bringing the action-heavy series to life:

Joining Beckinsale is Divergent star Theo James, who plays her new ally David. Charles Dance returns as Thomas — who happens to be David’s father! Can you say family draaamaaa?

On the other side of the feud we find Tobias Menzies as Maurius, “a formidable new Lycan leader,” and Bradley James of Merlin fame, who can briefly be seen in the trailer getting his ass kicked.

Also starring are Lara Pulver as Semira, James Faulkner, Peter Andersson, Daisy Head (Anthony Head’s daughter), and Clementine Nicholson.

Underworld: Blood Wars is the fifth movie in the Underworld series. The official synopsis reads:

“The next installment in the blockbuster franchise, UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.”

Blood Wars hits cinemas on January 6, 2017.
