ER‘s Eriq La Salle is coming to Chester’s Mill, and it looks like Dr. Benton hasn’t gotten any nicer since he left County General.

CBS has made another Under the Dome casting announcement in advance of the show’s season 3 premiere on Thursday, June 25.

ER vet Eriq La Salle will be joining the cast, EW reports, but will be hanging around outside of the titular dome.

La Salle will play Hektor Martin, a ruthless CEO of the energy company run by Barbie’s father. We learned in season 2 that Barbie’s dad is up to no good, and it’s likely his comrade Hektor Martin will cause lots of trouble for our friends in Chester’s Mill.

This will not be La Salle’s first involvement with the CBS summer hit. He directed season 2, episode 10, “The Fall,” one of the pivotal episodes of last season. He will also be directing season 3, episode 9 of this coming season.

La Salle is best known for playing the passionate and arrogant surgeon Dr. Peter Benton for eight seasons on the long-running ER. Too bad he just missed out on sharing the screen once again with his former ER costar Sherrie Stringfield (RIP Pauline). Earlier in his career, he made a memorable appearance as Darryl in the Eddie Murphy classic Coming to America. One can only hope he will bring some Soul Glo to Chester’s Mill.

CBS previously announced that CSI alum Marg Helgenberger will be joining the Under the Dome cast for an extended arc.

When we last left the gang in Chester’s Mill, it looked like our friends were about to find another way out from Under the Dome. But the appearance of the supposedly dead Melanie made them a little wary of stepping into the light. Meanwhile, it seemed like Junior had taken care of Big Jim for good, but will Big Jim ever truly be completely out of our hair? Only time will tell, as the season 3 premiere is right around the corner.
