Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End might hold a clue to the title or theme of The Last Of Us 2.

Naughty Dog has been understandably wrapped up with the final chapter in their Uncharted series, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

The gorgeous game is a thrill and a visual delight, and we’re very satisfied with the conclusion to Drake’s story.

But let’s talk about The Last Of Us — or rather, the long-awaited sequel.

Ever since the game was first released for PS3 in 2013, fans have been clamoring for a second game set in Naughty Dog’s fantastic, evocative universe.

Although many would argue that Ellie, or certainly Joel’s, story is complete, there’s so much potential for world exploration in this post-apocalyptic America which has been overtaken by the haunting cordyceps fungus.

And, although there have been hints and alleged slip-ups by in-the-knows, this Uncharted 4 easter egg might just be our first substantial hint that Naughty Dog isn’t done with The Last Of Us.

Savvy gamers have spotted the following poster in the background of a scene, which reveals a potential title: “The Last Of Us: American Daughters.” Check out the video below:

The poster also features a pregnant woman wearing a gas mask, who looks suspiciously like The Last Of Us‘s main female protagonist Ellie (voiced by Ashley Johnson). The Dark Horse mark at the bottom indicates another tie-in comic — but could we also be looking at the plot of a future game?

Although the Left Behind DLC established Ellie as being in love with her (female) best friend, she could of course be bisexual rather than a lesbian, so it is very possible that, after a few years, she’d get pregnant — while still kicking ass, of course.

Of course it might not be Ellie at all. Could we instead be looking at Ellie’s mother Anna, whose death prompted the leader of the Fireflies, Marlene, to take responsibility for Ellie’s upbringing?

Perhaps, instead of exploring Ellie and Joel’s future lives, Naughty Dog will take us back in time, to explore the 20 years that passed in between the initial outbreak and the events of The Last of Us?

Either way, we’re more than a little unnerved at the possibility of having to fight off hoard of infected and clickers while playing as a heavily pregnant character! But the concept of “American Daughters” (if that is indeed the game’s title) at least points to a female protagonist, which would be a welcome sight in a game like this.

We’ll have to wait for official updates from Naughty Dog — but perhaps, with this tiny Uncharted 4 hint, it’s not unreasonable to expect more hints to drop at E3 2016 in June?
