It’s time to work together to stop the end of the world in the new, full trailer for Netflix’s adaptation of The Umbrella Academy.

Netflix released a new trailer for their widely-anticipated adaptation of The Umbrella Academy, a comic book series from former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá. In the first trailer, we get to meet the members of this unique family.

The trailer introduces us to the basic premise of the show: one night in 1989, 43 women gave birth. Except at the start of that day, none of the women were pregnant. Of those 43 kids, the wealthy Reginald Hargreeves adopts 7 of those children in an attempt to start an X-Men style school for kids with abilities.

However, when the trailer snaps us into the present, the family is reunited for Hargreeves’ funeral. While none of his adopted children seem all-too-thrilled about their unique upbringing, they come together to not only honor their adoptive father’s death but also stop the impending apocalypse.

This trailer gives us a great look at each of the characters from The Umbrella Academy and shows us that while this is a superhero story, it’s quite unlike any we’ve seen before. From the characters themselves to the world created by the mind of Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy looks to be an immersive and fascinating show packed with adventure and a fresh style of storytelling.

And as an added fun tidbit in the trailer, for those who know and love Gerard Way first as the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, the action is set to the music of the new song, ‘Hazy Shade of Winter,’ recorded by Way himself.

You can check out The Umbrella Academy for yourself when it premieres only on Netflix on February 15.
