Fans of The Umbrella Academy can rest easy knowing that season 3 is officially a go at Netflix!

In a press release sent out on Tuesday (November 10) Netflix confirmed that it has officially renewed The Umbrella Academy for season 3.

Shortly after news broke, the series’ official social handles took to the internet to spread the good news with fans far and wide.

“Oh my god! We’re back! Again! It’s official,” tweeted the series. “Production for season 3 of The Umbrella Academy begins in February.”

Word of today’s renewal comes three months after season 2 of the series dropped on Netflix on July 31, 2020. The series highly anticipated second season found fans picking back up with their favorite characters after Five manages to use his powers to help his family escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse. The escape comes with a price, however, and the time jump ends up scattering the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas over a three-year period starting in 1960.

Altered Carbon vet Steve Blackman will return to serve as showrunner and executive producer on the hit comic book adaptations third season, which will also find actors Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore returning to reprise their respective roles.

Others also returning behind the sevens in executive producer roles include Jeff F. King (EP/D), Mike Richardson (EP), Keith Goldberg (EP), Jesse McKeown (EP), Gerard Way (Co-EP), and Gabriel Bá (Co-EP).

When season 3 eventually hits Netflix at an unspecified date, fans of the hit series can look forward to 10 new one-hour episodes.

Production on The Umbrella Academy season 3 is set to kick off next year in February out in Toronto, Canada, though Netflix has yet to announce when we can expect season 3 to debut.
