Ubisoft is building a theme park based on its popular video game franchises. The catch: it’s in Malaysia.
While Nintendo characters might be coming to Universal theme parks, Ubisoft is building its own.
The news came via an Ubiblog post, which revealed the location and opening date for Ubisoft’s “next-generation” theme park.

In 2020, Ubisoft’s 10,000-square-meter park will open in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and you will be able to enjoy “rides, shows and other attractions” based on Ubisoft’s game franchises.
Being next-generation, the park will aim to immerse visitors fully in reactive worlds, where they can “become heroes of their own life-sized game,” according to the Senior Vice President of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, Jean de Rivières.
Continues Rivières, “Together we are creating a place where every guest is a player, every ride is a playground, every visit is a game.”
Ubisoft’s most popular game franchises include Rayman and Assassin’s Creed, both of which we will be able to experience firsthand in the park. A Rayman-based ride, the “Rabbids dark ride,” already exists in the Futuroscope theme park in France.
The possibilities for playing around in the Assassin’s Creed world are, of course, endless. We really hope Ubisoft is going to aim high for this park, because let’s get real, who doesn’t want to immerse themselves fully in their favorite video game?
Other Ubisoft games on our theme park wishlist include Watch Dogs, Far Cry and, let’s face it, the Just Dance series. A fully immersive dancing experience would be pretty wild!
