At the end of their iPhone 6 and Apple Watch event on Tuesday, U2 released their entire new album Songs of Innocence for free on iTunes.

The band performed a new single called “Miracle (of Joey Ramone)” live at the event before announcing that Songs of Innocence, made up of 11 brand new tracks, would be available for free today.

U2’s new album track list is as follows:

1) “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)”
2) “Every Breaking Wave”
3) “California (There Is No End to Love)”
4) “Song for Someone”
5) “Iris (Hold Me Close)”
6) “Volcano”
7) “Raised by Wolves”
8) “Cedarwood Road”
9) “Sleep Like a Baby Tonight”
10) “This Is Where You Can Reach Me”
11) “The Troubles”

The new album is available for free for iTunes customers now through October 13. The album is available for everyone via their Apple device’s music app. You should see U2 and Songs of Innocence listed in your library automatically. If not, check your settings and make sure the automatic iCloud downloads/purchases option is activated.

The decision to drop an album by surprise is a move that iTunes pulled with Beyoncé in December. Her album wasn’t available for free, however.

U2 hadn’t set any sort of release date for their next album, but we did know that one was in the works. Needless to say, today’s reveal took fans of the rock band by surprise.
