U2 drummer, Larry Mullen has some exciting news to share: September 2013 marks the possible release of brand new material from the band.

During an interview with RTE 2fm, a radio station in Ireland, Mullen hinted strongly that U2 was planning to bring new music to fans around the world and possibly even an album in the same month.

“Hopefully what we will be able to do is release September this year and shortly afterwards, release again,” Mullens said. “ That’s what we want to do.”

During the un-aired interview, which will air this Saturday, Mullen’s went on to reveal that the band has been working with artist and producer, Danger Mouse.

Foreseeing a long summer ahead of them, Mullen believes the group will be finished recording by the season’s end and have it packaged and ready to go by September.

The currently untitled U2 album will be the band’s 15th album since the release of their debut, Boy, in 1980.
And if history has anything to prove, U2’s newest album will be beyond fan’s expectations. As the band is constantly evolving and is fearless when it comes to their sound, working with Danger Mouse–who also produced Norah Jones’ Little Broken Hearts–will only keep U2 as a staple in rock music.
