Today at New York Comic-Con Jeff Davis announced that Tyler Posey would be directing an upcoming episode of Teen Wolf.

At this time, little information is known about when Posey will be taking his seat in the director’s chair (some time in season 6 seems likely), but Posey did take some time to share his thoughts about the upcoming job at today’s roundtables.

“I’m really excited to hear the reactions now! Because we’ve known about this for a while now. I’ve known about this before we started filming season 5A. I’ve kept it under wraps, you know. But now that it’s out… I love it. I’m so excited. I just want to keep building my career. And I think I’m really good at this kind of stuff, you know?”

His infectious excitement didn’t end there. “I think I was born to do this shit!” he told us. “So I’ve been eyeing it and I’m taking advantage of all these opportunities. In my position, I have a lot of doors open. And I’m realizing it. I’m only 24. Not even. I’ve been really inspired and motivated lately, and I’m taking life by the balls. But in the best way,” he clarifies. “In a really respectful kind way. But yeah it’s going to be great. I’m really excited.”

Last year, the young actor began his first foray into the production world. He became a co-producer on Teen Wolf and tried his hand at behind-the-scene tasks.

When asked how he wanted to run his set, Posey had this to say: “I just want [my co-stars] to know it’s not a power thing. We should all feel equal. It should be a collaborative process. I don’t want to be the only one shouting out ideas when I’m directing. I want it to be collaborative because that’s the way it should be.”

Does he think directing his co-stars will be weird? “Hopefully the actors don’t hate me!” he said. “They know I love them. They know I want what’s best for them and the show. And we all have such a great relationship, I don’t think they could be hurt by me directing them. So, I don’t know! We’ll see!”
