Guardians of the Galaxy filming is underway in London and today it’s been reported that Tyler Bates will compose the score for the film.

Jeff Sneider from The Wrap has tweeted that Tyler Bates has jumped on the Marvel train to compose an epic score for Guardians of the Galaxy. Bates is well known in the industry and some of his latest scores include Movie 43, The Darkest Hour, Sucker Punch, and more importantly – 300 and Watchmen.

Tyler’s work on director Zack Snyder’s 300 and Watchmen was highly praised and Marvel has made a bold, yet great choice for Guardians of the Galaxy’s score. The film will mostly be in space, so we’ll be interested to hear what Bates comes up with for the space-thriller.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s latest set images were released just last week, and there were some questions as to whether it was Glenn Close we were seeing under pounds of prosthetics, but it turns out that it wasn’t her. But the set images definitely give us an idea of what we’ll be seeing in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy follows a futuristic, alien superhero team protecting the galaxy from evil, led by Peter Quill. The team first appeared in Marvel comics in 1969, but weren’t given their own series until the 1990s. Check out our latest news on Guardians of the Galaxy, as the film will hit theaters August 1, 2014.
