This weekend at San Diego Comic Con Hypable got a chance to sit down and talk briefly with the happy couples of Once Upon a Time, and they shared their thoughts about the upcoming season.

Robert Carlyle and Emilie de Ravin

It was lovely to see the couple known as Rumbelle together, and it’s easy to see that Emilie and Robert compliment each other just as well off screen.

When asked about their characters’ arc this past season, Robert was quick to admit that, “This season really stretched their relationship more than it ever had before.” We know that they definitely overcame their fair share of obstacles, what with Rumpelstiltskin running off to Neverland to sacrifice himself and Belle staying behind in Storybrooke trying to step into the leadership void maintained by Regina, Snow and Charming. They definitely went through the wringer.

We were anxious to know what will be happening to their characters this season on Once Upon a Time, especially since we know that Rumpelstiltskin and Elsa have at least some sort of history. Neither Emilie or Robert had yet to meet or work with any of the new actors, but they were most anxious to meet them and discover what these new characters mean for their plots. Robert then let slip that “I’m about to do my first scene with Elsa this Wed.” So we will DEFINITELY be getting some interaction between at least those two this fall.

Colin O’Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison

Our time was limited with Hook and Emma, but when we got a chance to ask them about their characters and what they think of adding Anna and Elsa to the show Jennifer answered, “Anna and Elsa have been a great addition. They just fit into the world so naturally, it feels like they’ve always been there. There are tons of parallels between what is going on in Storybrooke, and what’s been going on in Arendelle.”

It definitely sounds as if Emma and/or Hook will have some definite interaction with the Frozen girls, but to what extent we cannot be sure. They must have shot something in an imaginary cold environment too, because Colin commented that, “We’re shooting Frozen stuff in the middle of the summer when it’s really, really hot, and then we’re shooting scenes where we have to be outside all of the time in the middle of the pouring rain.”

Lastly, when asked about how Hook and Emma are dealing with their relationship, we got a definite affirmative that no one is pretending it didn’t happen. “They definitely have a thing, that they’re going to have to deal with, so yeah, I think there will be plenty of stuff.”

We can’t wait to see what these couples are up to the when Once Upon a Time returns on September 28, 2014 on ABC!
