Fans may know him best as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series, but the actor and model could be starring in a new Tarzan film opposite Spencer Locke.
The fully animated film could see the actor using motion capture technology to play the legendary feral child who is raised by apes. Reinhard Kloos (Animals United) will direct the Constantin film, also taking on writing duties alongside Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs). Locke, who has starred in two of the Resident Evil films, has entered talks to play love interest Jane.
Deadline points out that rival studio Warner Bros. has been trying to get a Tarzan movie off the ground for some time. If the larger studio is successful, we could be seeing a face-off similar to that of Mirror Mirror and Snow White and The Huntsman.
