The BAFTA winning drama Misfits returns tonight on E4 with an all new eight-episode season and a brand new cast member to match – but how will the show fair without main man Nathan?

Rude, outrageous, funny and clever – Misfits follows a group of teenage offenders who unexpectedly gained powers after a freakish storm hit during their community service.

At the end of season 2, Kelly, Curtis, Alisha and Simon all bought new superpowers from Seth, but what were they and what can we expect from the opening episode? We’ve got an official synopsis and a preview clip for your viewing pleasure, below.

Official Synopsis:

Rudy gets a rude awakening in his first few days of community service, learning that with the keys to the infamous locker room comes a great deal of running, screaming and, in some instances, killing. But that really is the least of his worries. More pressing is just how to keep his secret superpower, well, secret. Meanwhile the rest of the gang are trying to adapt to life with their new superpowers. But just how did the trade-off with Seth, the superpower dealer, go down? With zombies on the loose, body-swap confusion, ghostly hauntings from the past and Simon trying to fulfill his destiny to become Superhoodie, things haven’t become any quieter for our gang.

Trailer:

And for those of you who can’t wait for the season premiere, DigitalSpy posted ten teasers about the episode which you can see below.

1. We all know that the gang have new powers. We won’t spoil them for you, but we can reveal that there’s no Nathan situation – we’ll find out all of the abilities by the end of the episode.
2. Speaking of Nathan, hopefully you’ve all watched the online film by now. But he does get mentioned in the episode.
3. You know what they say about a woman scorned? Yeah, well, meet this week’s villain.
4. New character Rudy has a connection to one of our current Misfits.
5. “We were ********* and then it just kicked off.”
6. Misfits is just as crude as ever. Not one to watch with your grandmother, unless your grandmother happens to like copious amounts of jokes about anal sex and the shape of female genitalia.
7. There’s just as much jeopardy (and blood) as ever.
8. Simon-Alisha fans – there’s a very sweet moment for the couple (which also happens to include some rather odd nicknames).
9. Remember that power dealer Seth? He’s back – and on a mission. (Oh, and the fab probation worker’s here again too.)
10. Simon begins taking his first steps (and jumps) towards becoming the Superhoodie.

Misfits will be broadcast tonight on E4 at 10pm. Be sure to let us know what you think of the opening episode in the comments after!
