The trailer for Kevin Smith’s Tusk is here, and it’s weird.

Kevin Smith’s trailer for his new movie Tusk just debuted at the film’s panel at Comic Con, and it’s now online. If the trailer is any indication, the film is going to be one of the weirdest movies you’ll see all year. We can’t wait to see it.

The movie stars Justin Long as one half of a podcasting duo (the other is played by Haley Joel Osment) who goes up North to Canada to interview an eccentric man played by Michael Parks. Upon being skeptical at the man’s claims about the Walrus’ powers, Long’s character is kidnapped. He’s then named Mr. Tusk and the man starts trying to turn him into a Walrus. “I don’t want to die in Canada,” Long’s character says.

Also starring in the movie are Genesis Rodriguez and Johnny Depp. Smith originally wanted Quentin Tarantino to take Depp’s role.

Smith revealed at the Comic Con panel (via SlashFilm) that Tusk will be the first film in his “True North Trilogy.” He expects to follow it with Yoga Hosers and Moose Jaws. To say the writer and director is rejuvenated would be an understatement.

“I began reconstructing the whole thing as an old British Hammer horror film,” Smith said in a now removed Hollywood Reporter column (via The Playlist), “in which a mad scientist intends to sew some hapless lodger into counterfeit blubber, creating a chimera in an effort to answer the ultimate riddle, ‘Is man, indeed, a walrus at heart?!'”

Here’s the official plot summary:

“Tusk” follows Wallace (Justin Long), a journalist on a mission. He finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Michael Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.

The above trailer was debuted by the official A24 YouTube account.
