The true death is upon us. True Blood says goodbye for good this Sunday, so it’s time to make some predictions concerning what’ll go down.

First, let’s review what we know:

1) The final episode is called “Thank You,” an appropriate title for an ending.

2) The synopsis reads, “Sookie (Anna Paquin) weighs a future with and without Bill (Stephen Moyer). Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) struggle with their uncomfortable partnership with Mr. Gus (Will Yun Lee). Sam (Sam Trammell) makes a choice, while Andy (Chris Bauer) comes upon an unexpected inheritance.”

3) A trailer for season 7, episode 10 offers a couple of clips including Sookie telling who appears to be Bill that she “can’t let go.” Watch:

‘True Blood’ series finale predictions

So, what’s going to happen in the hour-long finale this Sunday, August 24?

Prediction 1: Mr. Gus will deliver a fatal blow to Sookie, who will be saved by Bill or Eric. At the end of episode 9 we saw Gus ask Eric where Sookie is so he could kill her (because heaven forbid she knows about the Hep-V cure).

Promotional material for season 7 showed Sookie crying a single tear of blood (see above), which some thought hinted at her imminent change into a vampire. If Gus tries to kill her, a vampire could be just the solution to saving her. What if Sookie drank Bill’s blood moments before Bill dies from the Hep-V infection, thus giving Sookie the opportunity to have Bill live within her?

Prediction 2: The whole gang is going to get together for a farewell to… somebody. Anna Paquin said in a recent interview that all of the lead characters get together for a scene towards the end of the finale. The trailer above supports that claim with a couple of the characters looking well-dressed at some sort of event at a home. What could the occasion be? One obvious guess is Bill’s funeral, but we don’t see anyone dressed in funeral-black in the footage above. Then again, we do see a shot of Bill in a coffin, so that’s not a good sign.

Maybe the gathering is a farewell to Sam, who we saw in episode 9 is moving to Chicago. For some reason he’s returning to town in episode 10, the trailer and synopsis confirm (… What could make him come back so quick? Bill’s funeral?!), but naturally we don’t know why.

Wacky bonus prediction: Bill dies and Sookie decides to get together with Sam (the synopsis says he “makes a choice” about something).

Prediction 3: Jason and Bridget are not going to have sex…. yet. Showrunners may be looking to give Jason some long overdue character development, and what better thing to do than show that Jason doesn’t need to have sex with every pretty woman who pays attention to him? We predict that Jason and Bridget will not have sex during the finale, but to please the viewers, Jason will be shirtless one last time.

Prediction 4: Pam and Eric kill Gus, obtain the synthesized cure, and kill Sarah. We’re making this prediction because Eric wants Sarah dead and for the cure to be out of the hands of Gus. We’re hoping there’s an epic takedown of Mr. Gus and the Yakonomo Corporation, because this is the only plot thread remaining that would yield one big, final battle.

We’d love to see Eric and Pam handle Nu Blood themselves and become rich off of it. Could they make Fangtasia the exclusive location to purchase the cure? Think of all the business they’d get at their iconic bar!

Prediction 5: Lafayette will find his happy place. James and Lafayette haven’t received enough screen time in these final episodes. It would be a huge disappointment if we did not see them share a kiss and talk about their future plans during the farewell. We think these two are going to ride off into the sunset along with other new couples like Arlene/Keith and Holly/Andy.

What do you think will happen in ‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 10?
