The final season of True Blood is currently airing on HBO, but the cast and crew only finished filming the series last week.

Appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, lead actress Anna Paquin spoke about the final days on set after seven years of filming.

“It’s completely surreal,” she admitted. “It’s really sad that this whole group of people that’s been together so long are – we’ll be friends, but we’ll never be together in the same way [again].” Paquin seemed noticeably sad about the end of such a long working relationship.

She continued, “Most of the cast wrapped on Monday. We had this big, giant scene that’s one of the last scenes in episode 10 where everyone is there. We did a lot of crying and hugging.

“And then on Wednesday we were shooting an hour and a half outside Los Angeles in a really small town in a church when the season wrapped. By the time we were done the power had been shut off in my trailer already and I couldn’t find my clothes.

“I went, wow I guess we’re really done.”

With True Blood now finished, Paquin says the biggest benefit of not having a television show is that she can make plans with family members and keep them. She says that she’ll be traveling to see family in London and New Zealand in the near future.

Elsewhere in her interview with Meyers, the actress talks about wearing clothes for flashbacks that fit a lot differently before she had two children.

True Blood season 7 continues this Sunday with episode 5. While you wait, check out our recap of last Sunday’s episode, which was one of our favorites from the season so far.
