True Blood season 7’s premiere episode will be helmed by the show’s lead star Stephen Moyer.

Moyer plays Bill Compton on the HBO vampire drama which airs every summer. The pay channel announced earlier this year that True Blood season 7 will be the show’s final run.

This will be the third time that Moyer is directing an episode of the show. He last directed the season 6 premiere episode titled “Who Are You, Really?” as well as season 5, episode 8 “Somebody That I Used To Know.”

True Blood season 7 is expected to premiere on HBO in June 2014. The show will begin shooting this January. Only ten episodes of the show – ever – remain.

Although details about the final season are still scarce, we know that Andy’s daughter has been promoted to a season regular, and another star says the final episodes will “finish stronger than ever.”

Said HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo in a statement when they announced the show is coming to an end, “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

We look forward to seeing how things are wrapped up!
