It looks like True Blood season 7 may be sending Lafayette out with a happy ending. The show is looking for a new cast member to play his boyfriend.

Lafayette will get a new boyfriend named Drake in the final season of True Blood. According to a casting notice, he’s described as “a cross between Jim Morrison and James Dean,” according to TV Line. “This brooding and insanely good-looking vamp is a compassionate protector with a poet’s edge.”

True Blood is looking for an actor in his 20s who’s comfortable with performing sex scenes with another man (Lafayette).

We’re glad to see at least one character could potentially be ending their run on the show on a high note thanks to a steady romantic interest. Hopefully the new boyfriend will be a better choice than Jesus was.

HBO announced in September that season 7 will be its last. It is expected to premiere in summer 2014.

In an interview earlier this month, show star Stephen Moyer spoke about the possibility of Bill and Sookie getting back together to create a happy ending of their own. “I don’t know whether they can be [the endgame], given everything that’s happened between them,” he said (read more). “What Bill did was open up something inside her that she had never had before. He was the key to a new world for her. And maybe that’s all he was supposed to be — a window into that world.”
