New True Blood actor Rob Kazinsky, who joined the show in season 6 as Warlow/Ben, says in a new interview that the seventh and final season will have a strong finish.

Kazinsky says that he found out midway through filming season 6 that season 7 would be True Blood’s final season. He thinks that where the show is at the moment is a good place to end it.

“It’s very important – shows can outstay their welcome, you can run out of storylines. I think that happened with True Blood over the last couple of seasons – they kind of ran out of ideas and now they’ve got an idea again and they’re trying to finish stronger than ever… which they’re going to do next season!”

He added, “I think it’s incredibly brave what they’re doing – finishing in their strongest position and leaving a legacy behind for people to really treasure the show.”

True Blood season 7 will premiere in summer 2014. Fans had mixed opinions on season 6, and the final two episodes of the outing were particularly controversial.

We’re glad that they’re going into the final batch of episodes with a farewell plan so they can send off the characters and Bon Temps properly. Time will tell if this promise from Kazinsky comes true.
