True Blood‘s penultimate episode of the series airs this evening on HBO.

True Blood season 7, episode 9 is titled “Love Is to Die” and will show us how Sookie and Jessica react to Bill’s stunning news that he won’t drink Sarah’s blood to cure himself of the Hep-V infection.

Hopefully Bill will offer a explanation for this decision that is worthy of this major choice. As we speculated last week, his refusal to drink the cure may’ve been due to the dream he had in which he couldn’t see Sookie and himself raising a child.

A trailer for True Blood season 7, episode 9 shows Bill saying to Eric that death is “all we are. All we can give her,” likely referring to Sookie.

Sookie and Jessica will surely be making some big choices of their own on tonight’s episode in light of Bill’s announcement. On top of this drama, Jessica has to deal with the shake up between her and Hoyt.

The synopsis for tonight’s True Blood reads, “Sookie (Anna Paquin) retreats in confusion. Sam (Sam Trammell) makes a choice. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) exercises uncharacteristic restraint, while Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) faces a dilemma after being caught in a lie.”

True Blood season 7, episode 9 airs Sunday, August 17 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on HBO.
