Tonight’s episode of True Blood season 7 included a major scene right at the beginning that fans will surely be thinking about for weeks to come.

Our recap breaks down the numerous events within True Blood season 7, episode 2.

Eric/Jason sparks fly, but only as a fantasy

The episode kicked off with a serious amount of fan service: Jason and Eric hook up with each other in a very sensual way, which surely left all fans pleased.

How does it all go down? Jason finds Eric and tells him that he can’t get him out of his head, so after a couple seconds of wrestling (like any gay couple would do to kick things off) Jason begins kissing Eric’s back. And then they start making out on the lips (!!!). But as soon as Eric goes down on his man, Jason wakes up from this 4 1/2 minute fantasy. Then the True Blood opening credits begin to roll.

With that fantasy shaken off, Jason meets up with Sookie and Alcide after church. The trio plus Bellefleur and Sam are trying to figure out how to continue their search for the H-Vamps and by extension Holly, Arlene, and Nicole. Sookie suggests that they find out where the H-Vamps were last so they can learn more about these troublemakers. She brings them to the body she discovered last episode, and they find out the dead girl is from St. Alice, Louisiana – only a couple towns over.

The search group heads over to St. Alice and find that it’s deserted, but there’s lots of graffiti everywhere with messages like “FEMA help” and “SOS.” Sookie comes across a pit of dead bodies, proving that everyone has been either taken or killed.

An investigation of a house in St. Alice reveals that the H-vamps were in this town about two days ago (thanks to Jason’s pizza tasting skills), and the sad situation makes Andy vow that he’ll never let Holly out of his sights again if he finds her.

Sookie finds the diary of one of the captured, and it references falling in love with a vampire. As she reads it, we flash back to Sookie and Bill’s first time going to Fangtasia together. It was a really sweet moment and reminded us why we love Bill and Sookie together. Can they get back together, please?

Driving back to Bon Temps, Alcide suggests they just keep driving and run away for good, but Sookie is dedicated to saving her home.

Back at home after the long day, Alcide goes to shower and wash off the tiredness. While he’s getting clean, Sookie sneaks out and goes over to Bill’s. “Can you still sense my fear?” she asks. Please, please put them back together.

Elsewhere…

Sam tells the people on Bon Temps that they need to be of service to one another to take their minds off the recent attack, so Lettie Mae uses this motivation to go and check in on Lafayette. At his house, Lettie Mae asks for help summoning Tara back, but Lafayette insists she’s dead and there’s no saving her.

Later, Lettie Mae burns herself while cooking, so she wakes up Willa for some vampire blood. After she drinks it she has a vision about Tara, who’s tied to a cross with a snake wrapped around her. So it looks like we will be seeing Tara during the remainder of the season, but maybe only through Lettie Mae’s visions. Is this why she didn’t get a bigger send off?

Adilyn wants to go stay with Rocky and Wade and gets permission from Andy, who makes her promise she’ll be back an hour before dark. He reminds her that Jessica can not be invited in at night. (He’s still unaware of what happened in last week’s episode between the two.)

At Bellefleur’s bar the townspeople are cleaning up the mess caused by the H-Vamps. Sore loser Vince tries to turn the people of Bon Temps against Sam by telling them that their mayor is a shapeshifter. After convincing them that Sam can’t be trusted, they all begin grabbing utensils and furniture around the bar that can be used as weapons. Adilyn and Wade sneak out to get weapons from the police station thanks to Officer Kenya. Just as they’re leaving the station, Vince and company come in and ask for weapons.

After Kenya is reminded that she’s taken a lot of crap from Andy lately, the officer has a change of heart about sharing the weapons. Adilyn tries to fend her off with a spell but it doesn’t keep them back for long. Instead, Adilyn and Wade are arrested, which triggers Jessica’s alarms.

Jessica can’t run out to save Adilyn because the sun is out. To make matters worse, she can’t get in touch with either Adilyn or Sookie. Andy comes back home to find Jessica and no Adilyn. Jessica tells him Adilyn is in danger and asks him to help her search for her once the sun sets.

Meanwhile, Vince and Kenya train the people of Bon Temps to shoot. These people are nuts.

– There’s a little drama at the H-Vamps’ Fangtasia camp because one of them ate one of the humans without permission. With only a handful of humans left, they decide they need to go out hunting again. Betty is named the new reaper – the person who selects which of the prisoner humans they’ll eat next. When she goes downstairs to pick that day’s meal, Arlene tells Holly that she recognizes Betty because she used to teach their kids.

They grab her attention at a reaping later in the episode, and Arlene offers an impassioned speech about having the opportunity to free a couple of good people in her final days. Betty vows to “figure something out.”

Her plan is to become the sleep monitor – to be the person assigned to watching over the H-Vamps while they try and rest. After receiving approval for this position, Betty goes downstairs to help get the ladies out. But first she needs to leave some bite marks on Arlene’s leg so they have a way of covering this up if the other H-Vamps find out. Arlene agrees, but the plan backfires when Betty suddenly burns up. It looks like Holly and Arlene are stuck in prison for at least another week!

– In France, Pam is still on the hunt for Eric. She finds him in an apparently weak state because he’s refusing to drink any blood. Finally he’s back…and not just in a hot Jason fantasy!
