True Blood’s final season has cast a 90210 actor as a love interest to [spoiler!].

Riley Smith has joined the seventh and last season of HBO’s long-running vampire drama as a love interest to Arlene, Deadline reports. His role is described as “major” and recurring.

“He will play Keith, a sexy, rock ‘n’ roll vampire with a romantic side,” the website reports. “A drummer in James’ (Nathan Parson) band, he becomes smitten with Arlene (Carrie Preston) on first sight.”

Keith looks like he’ll be a younger guy for Arlene which should surely excite her. We’re sure she’ll still be coping from the death of Terry, but at least a new man will be in her life.

True Blood season 7 has been lining up numerous new actors for its final outing. Other additions include Nathan Parsons as James and a new boyfriend for Lafayette. In addition, Amelia Rose Blaire and Bailey Noble have been promoted to series regulars.

HBO announced in September that the show would be ending with its seventh season. In a statement, current show runner Brian Bruckner spoke about his plans for the final episodes. ““I guarantee that there’s not a more talented or harder-working cast and crew out there, and I’d like to extend a personal heartfelt thanks to them for their dedication and tenacity over the years, especially this past year, as I stepped into a larger role,” he said. “Thank you also to HBO for their unwavering support and of course to Alan Ball, whose genius enabled all of us to share in this incredible journey. Finally, a huge thank you to the most passionate fans in television. As we take a final walk through Bon Temps together, we will do our very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.”

True Blood will premiere this summer.
