True Blood season 6 will feature a plot line whereby Bon Temps will be short on Tru Blood, the popular alternate blood drink amongst vampires.

The new True Blood season 6 teaser titled “Bottle Preview” has no video clips but features several audio clips from vampires and humans – including Bill – who are concerned about the lack of Tru Blood’s availability.

“Do you have any idea how many people want to see us all dead?” Bill asks an unknown person.

Check out the teaser below:

We’re liking this idea of a Tru Blood shortage in season 6 because it will help us get back to the roots of the show that many viewers have been missing. This is a follow up to the True Blood season 5 plotline in which Billith attacks the factories. Based on dialogue clips in the teaser, it sounds like the shortage sparks an uprising.

The show’s producers have said in recent months that the show will be getting back to basics by bringing the storyline’s focus back to Bon Temps.

In other True Blood season 6 news, two recent teasers offer up behind-the-scenes looks at the making of particular moments. One involves Eric interrogating someone who has learned that vampires are taken into facilities to be studied, while the other focuses on Alcide and his pack:

True Blood season 6’s air date is set for June 16 at 9 PM ET/PT on HBO.
