HBO has released a new poster for True Blood season 6, and it seems to suggest that a major character is on his way out.

The True Blood season 6 poster pictures a male vampire up against a translucent wall with his fangs out. The tagline reads, “No one lives forever.”

Not convinced someone big is going to die? In a new spoiler report on TV Line today, the writer hints of a forthcoming death and confirmed the news with actor Joe Manganiello (who plays Alcide). “We’re getting to the point in the season now where people are starting to die. The table reads are starting to get smaller, and I’m sure they will continue to do that,” the actor said.

In addition, episode 7 of True Blood season 6 is titled “The Funeral.”

You may remember that several weeks ago we shared an interview with actor Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) who also hinted at a death. “There are more deaths. Some favorite characters may not last,” he said flat out.

The person who e-mailed TV Line about the death rumors says that it was Eric who may be meeting the grim reaper, but there was absolutely no confirmation or firm evidence provided in the article.

We think we’re due for a major death on True Blood and Eric may be the perfect character. His death will rock both Sookie and Bill’s worlds. On the other hand, Eric (played by Alexander Skarsgård) is a fan favorite, and viewers would be very upset if he left the show.

True Blood season 6 premieres June 16 on HBO.
