HBO’s resident vampire show, True Blood hit the stage at San Diego Comic-Con for the last time on Saturday night and Hypable was on the scene for the cast’s final appearance together. Here are five of the best things we learned from the panel.

1. Fans can expect some closure from the the final few episodes

Perhaps the highlight of the night was toward the end when fans in attendance got a sneak peak at what’s to come on the final episodes of True Blood. When speaking of what fans of the show can expect, executive producer Brian Buckner told Comic-Con goers, “It’s not going to slow down any– it’s just focusing more on the romance… you guys love these characters and we felt like we needed to land these characters in a place where you would be ok with not getting them anymore.” The executive producer also let slip that a lot of this season is about Sookie and Bill finding their way back to each other but cautioned fans that the reunion is “not going to be what you think it is.”

2. Just what is going on with the rumored ‘True Blood’ musical?

While Bill Compton himself, Stephen Moyer, admitted that a musical based on the steamy vampire drama is something that has been signed off on, it looks as though there are no plans to currently develop such a thing. And even if there were, while some of the cast would be game to reprise musical version of their on screen characters, others would be more hesitant. It may come as no surprise to some that Anna Camp is all for a True Blood musical. The actress, who also stars in the music-driven comedy, Pitch Perfect says she could totally see her character, Sarah Newlin, taking the stage in her very own gospel number. Carrie Preston, on the other hand says her character Arlene would definitely be more of a Reba McEntire type. Fan favorite, Kristen Bauer van Straten, however, is a bit more hesitant. “I’d need a lot of lessons and a couple of things– singing and dancing most of all.” Joked the actress who plays Pam on the show. Finally, Stephen Moyer, who is no stranger to musicals having starred in NBC’s live production of The Sound of Music just last winter, says he’d be more hesitant to reprise his role as Bill if a musical were ever to go into production. “I love Bill, but I’m really excited about moving on.” said Moyer.

3. Kristen Bauer van Straten had a hard time saying goodbye to Alexander Skarsgard

It’s no secret that Eric and Pam share one of the strongest bonds on True Blood, but fans will be happy to note that that bond transcends over to Kristen and Alex as well. During the farewell panel at SDCC, Bauer van Straten got a bit teary eyed as she recalled shooting her last scene with Skarsgard. “With Alex, that [wrap] was the most significant– I thought he would be rock solid Swede but when I saw him crack, I lost it,” recalled the actress. “I kept telling him, ‘see you tomorrow! see you tomorrow!’ so I wouldn’t cry.”

4. A few of the cast members took things home with them from the set

While most of the cast who play vampires on the show got to keep their fangs as they’re custom molded to fit their teeth, some of the things the actors took home with them after True Blood finished wrapping might surprise you. Executive Producer Brian Buckner told audience members that he took the swing from Sookie’s porch home with him. While they didn’t shoot many scenes on the swing, Buckner says he has fond memories of going to sit on the swing to think over the show which is why he wanted to make sure he could take it home with him. Stephen Moyer says he snagged a pair of dead deer feet wrapped in various Mardi Gras beads from Merlotte’s bar, while Rutina Wesley says she snagged Tara’s signature cutoff jean shorts from season 1. “They’re in a shadow box along with my fangs in my woman cave,” said the actress. Finally, Sam Trammell said he snagged a couple of boxes of matches from Merlotte’s as well as his boots.

5. Romance may be in the air for Arlene

Carrie Preston, who made her Comic-Con debut during Saturday’s panel, let it slip that romance may be in the air for Arlene before the season’s up. Speaking on Arlene’s relationship with new vampire in town, Keith, the actress said, “I don’t think you introduce a hot vampire without doing something to him… maybe there’s some stuff coming up between Arlene and Keith that I’ve never had to do on camera before!”

The final season of True Blood airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
