Marvel’s upcoming original series Daredevil has found its female lead in True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll.

Acording to Variety, Woll will play Karen Page, “the blind lawyer/crime fighter” who is also “the love interest of Daredevil himself Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox).”

The role may’ve appealed to Woll because her real life boyfriend E.J. Scott suffers from a rare genetic disease called choroideremia which has left him nearly blind.

Other recently announced Daredevil cast members include Vince D’Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Elden Henson, and Peter Shinkoda.

Woll just finished filming her role as a vampire made by Bill Compton, named Jessica, on True Blood season 7. The series airs its grand finale later this summer. Until then, the new episodes air every Sunday at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on HBO.

Daredevil is the first of several original series by Marvel being produced for Netflix.

“Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City,” reads the official synopsis from Netflix.
