Trevor Noah is taking over The Daily Show, and the first promo shows Jon Stewart catching his replacement in the act… of hosting.

Earlier this year, Comedy Central announced that Jon Stewart would step down as host of The Daily Show.

Although his fans are still in a state of denial, we remain cautiously optimistic about Stewart’s replacement Trevor Noah, who despite a series of unfortunate tweets is both a funny and topical comedian in his own right.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah premieres in September, and in this first-look promo we see him sneaking onto the set:

In the promo, Trevor Noah has snuck onto the Daily Show set, sitting in Jon Stewart’s chair and pretending that he’s really the host.

“Welcome to the new and sexy Daily Show,” Noah proclaims, before Stewart appears, looking at him with a disapproving expression. “Oh, sh**!” Noah exclaims.

South Africa-born Noah has worked as a correspondent on The Daily Show since December 2014. He first moved to the U.S. in 2011, and has appeared on a number of late night shows, and toured with his one-man comedy show Trevor Noah: The Racist.

Jon Stewart will be leaving The Daily Show on August 6, and The Daily Show With Trevor Noah will then premiere on September 28.

Are you looking forward to ‘The Daily Show With Trevor Noah’ or will you just miss Jon Stewart too much?
