The translucent PS4 Pro console marks Sony’s celebration for the sales of over 5 million PlayStation consoles, and will sell in very limited quantities.

The translucent PS4 has an impressive 2TB internal storage, making it the first of its kind, even amongst other PS4 Pro consoles.

It will come with a translucent blue Dualshock 4 controller, and a PlayStation camera periphery.

The translucent PS4 releases worldwide August 24, 2018. The means of acquiring one of the 50,000 consoles will likely be difficult, but in the announcement video below, Sony states that full details on retailers and the like will be revealed soon.

The translucent PS4 Pro will retail for $499, and comes in some sleek looking packaging. Complete with a see through box and “distinctive blue bag” to hold the console, collectors are bound to go wild over Sony’s packaging here.

Check out some more beautiful images of the console to see some of the finer details of the bundle releasing later this month.

The console allows you to see the inner workings of the PS4, and is reminiscent of the style of consoles in the 90’s and 2000’s.

A PlayStation Gold translucent headset will sell separately, as will the included translucent Dualshock 4 controller. They will both release in stores this coming September.

The PlayStation 4 released in 2013, with the PS4 Pro following it in 2016. The PS4 Pro features a stronger processor and compatibility with 4K resolution television sets. Games like God of War look especially spectacular on the PS4 Pro, showing finer details and textures than ever before. Of course, streaming services like Netflix make for a great combination with the PS4 Pro’s 4K capabilities as well.
