Netflix has just released the trailer for its new, three-episode horror series, Ghoul, and it looks wonderfully terrifying.

Netflix has helped make the world feel a bit smaller, bringing shows from across the globe together for audiences everywhere to enjoy. In its latest series from India, Ghoul, we get a truly terrifying look into a military interrogation gone horribly wrong.

Ghoul comes from the makers of Insidious, Get Out, and Udta Punjab, and tells the story of a soldier dealing with a prisoner who is taken to a remote military facility for questioning. However, what begins as a normal interrogation soon devolves into the other-worldly when the prisoner slowly begins to reveal some of the soldiers’ most shameful secrets. As the Netflix synopsis for the movie says, “You can fight the demons of this world, but what about the ones that aren’t?”

While Ghoul is only three episodes long, this brief look at the show has already got us extremely excited for the scares headed our way in this show. For many viewers, this might be their first taste of any Indian entertainment, and by the looks of this trailer, horror fans are going to be begging Netflix to add more Indian horror to their queues.

The show stars Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul and was written by Patrick Graham, and happily, we don’t have to wait too terribly long to experience Ghoul for ourselves. It’s unclear if the show will resolve the story at the end of the three episodes, or if it will be an open-ended conclusion to leave room for the possibility of additional episodes. Either way, we’ll get to experience the terror for ourselves when all three episodes premiere on Netflix on August 24.
