Many Toy Story fans were disappointed when Disney announced a fourth installment in the series after perfectly ending the trilogy. Now, new comments from Pixar’s president may alleviate some concerns.

Speaking to Disney Latino this week, Jim Morris revealed that Toy Story 4 will be a story that’s separate from the arc seen from Toy Story to Toy Story 3. In addition, the new film is a “romantic comedy” that will “not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children,” according to comments translated by Slashfilm.

Morris’ new comments go hand-in-hand with one another. Without the human ownership storyline which appeared in the first three Toy Story films, Toy Story 4 will have less reason to place humans with the toys. This may make the film feel dramatically different than the previous three installments which’ve always involved the toys wanting to be close to their owner.

In Toy Story 3 Andy beautifully handed his collection of beloved toys to Bonnie, the young girl who loved toys as much as Andy did when he was a child. Bonnie has since appeared in most of the Toy Story short films. Morris’ new comments make it sound like she’ll continue to have the same background role in Toy Story 4.

Pixar creative head John Lasseter has previously described Toy Story 4 as a “love story”. To help enhance the rom-com elements, Lasseter brought screenwriters Rashida Jones and Will McCormack on board. “They have such a great sense of character and originality. And I wanted to get a strong female voice in the writing of this,” Lasseter said in November.

Do Morris’ comments make you feel any better about ‘Toy Story 4’?

Toy Story 4 opens in theaters June 16, 2017. Even if you have reservations about the movie now, you know you’ll want to see it and you’ll probably love it. Come on, admit it!
