The Vampire Diaries season 6, episode 5, “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here” arrives tonight, bringing with it a lot of corn maze shenanigans courtesy of Elena and Alaric. Check out a sneak peek!

Last week’s episode had Stefan showing Elena how he moves on after tragedy, only for her to step in at the last minute and save the man he was about to kill. After she berated him for caring about Damon, Stefan lost his cool and told her about how she had Alaric compel her memories of Damon from her. That sent Elena running to Alaric, and he presented her with a journal she wrote to convince herself that this is the right way for her to move on. Pretty smart of Elena to prepare for her friends’ slip ups. It was bound to happen.

We also saw Damon and Bonnie get REALLY close to escaping their 1994 prison, but learning a few things about their prison-mate kept them from running off to the present with him. Namely that he’s a psychopath that murdered his brothers and sisters and has incredibly murderous plans for his coven when/if he returns from 1994.

This week, Elena is courting a new beau by taking him to a corn maze, while Alaric takes Elena’s advice and tries to get out and socialize a bit. We’re sure that plan will backfire for him, but maybe he’ll be able to get his flirty-flirt on a bit before things spiral out of control. We also know that Stefan is gonna come clean about some things, which has us incredibly interested, and Tyler is gonna be faced with some werewolf-curse-heavy temptations. Sounds like a killer episode if you ask us!

Sneak Peeks

So, the tables have turned a bit, and now Damon is the hopeful happy prisoner, while Bonnie is now the skeptic. We are loving their dynamic these past few episodes and we really hope that Bonnie and Damon keep this friendship together once they make it back to the present.

Alaric is at his happiest when he is telling tales of murder and mayhem, which is precisely what happens in this clip. Check out the cult studies professor in his element in this second clip from tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries.
