AHS: Freak Show kicks off its two week Halloween special with the introduction of Emma Roberts and Denis O’Hare!

“Edward Mordake: Part 1” is the first of two episodes that will focus on the Halloween terrors that sweep through American Horror Story this season. The episode will focus on the carny superstition that the spirit of the two-faced Edward Mordake can be summoned if circus performers act on All Hallows Eve.

The detective’s body may be nothing more than a pile of ashes, but his badge lives on to condemn the freaks. The arrival of Dell Toledo, a desperate strong man act from the midwest, causes a stir in leadership under the big top. The town’s curfew threatens to take Elsa’s business, but Dell has another plan in place to save the show, a matinee. Tensions flare when Dell bills Elsa at the bottom of the program as a special appearance and the twins popularity rises. The plan to remove Dell from the camp goes awry when he catches on to Jimmy’s plot to frame him for murder. Unfortunately, Meep takes the fall with no way to defend himself and dies in prison.

Meanwhile, Dandy finds an unlikely mentor in a clown that his mother picks up on the street.

Dandy and his new mentor decide to haunt the town on one night of the year Twisty will blend with the crowds. The troupe of performers are reluctant to have a show on Halloween since the legend of the two-faced Edward Mordake is said to haunt the performers who choose to act. The legend goes that Mordake was born with two faces, the one on the back of his head is said to have whispered evil sayings, influencing the body to perform unspeakable actions.

A new visitor arrives, claiming she can read the future. But Maggie Esmerelda is not prepared for the experience she is about to step inside of at Elsa Mars’ camp.
