Finally, the moment Smallville fans have been waiting for – Tom Welling will co-star in Parkland, a John F. Kennedy biopic featuring Paul Giamatti, Zac Efron, and Billy Bob Thornton.

Deadline reports that the film will focus on the events at Parkland Hospital in the hours after the JFK assassination. Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, and Gary Goetzman are all set to produce, while Peter Landesman will direct. The film is planned to be released this year around the time of the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination.

There have been no details released on who Welling will play or how large of a role he will have, but hopefully, these details will be known soon.

Aside from playing Clark Kent for ten years on Smallville, Welling has also starred in a few films such as Cheaper by the Dozen and The Fog. He also was the executive producer of the short-lived CW show Hellcats.

I am very excited to see Welling act again! It has been way too long since we’ve seen him in front of the camera, and I am very curious to see how different this character will be from the others he has played!
